Hello Rhythmites!
We’ve decided to take turns updating the Rhythm blog to get different perspectives each week (to mix things up) and to provide a little more consistency in our updates.
This week’s message [entitled “Thank You Max”] reminded us that inviting Jesus into our hearts and lives doesn’t make life any easier. We all still make huge mistakes – life and sin and death are still prevalent; the difference is Who we’re standing with. In Jesus, we can experience a peace, joy and unexplainable presence, regardless of our situation.
Jesus voluntarily became one of us so that when we struggle, we can know He knows how we feel. Jesus understands the confines of our bodies – the laughter, the grief, the loneliness, the hurt, the love – He gets it. When we forget to think of Jesus in His human nature, we are missing the whole point! He knows, better than we can ever imagine, exactly what we’re going through. Jesus proved himself when He came to live as we do. All we have to do is reach, ask and yearn for Him. He’s already with us – it’s just a matter of us calling on Him and allowing Him to heal our hurts.
Things to keep in mind:
1. Final payments for the New Orleans mission trip are due. There will be a meeting after Rhythm next week to discuss details.
2. Master illusionist Harris III will be with us in two weeks (May 20). This is going to be an awesome show you won’t want to miss!
3. There are some amazing churches in the valley that would love to have you and love on you and let you serve as God created you to do. Check out some of the options on the “Churches” page.
4. There will be no Rhythm on May 27th. We love you, but even God took a day to rest. =)
Have a wonderful week!
PJ
